Okay...time to do some update..been dying to do this for a long time but din have the chance..c",) Basically, I did say I want to erase all memory for the coming 2.5 yeras right..but that's doing injustice to this blog, so bare with me as I write more about my NS life...
ATT C (Home)
Let's see, in the nutshell it means medical leave at home. Get 14 days of it in your BMT and you are out of course. Last week, I had 4 days of it. On Monday, came out for medical appointment at NUH @ ENT Clinic, doc say I was allergic to the pollens of trees and grass, which means I am allergic to Tekong..duh...and so got 2 days MC to rest at home. Went back on Tuesday night and reported sick on Wednesday because my hip was killing me with the fall I had during IPPT the week before, and I got another 2 days. Thursday night book in and by Friday night I was out due to the OCS visit on Saturday. Then right now, I am home due to a chest infection near my heart, which can develop into something serious if I do not get enough rest...oh yah, it's 4 days ATT C and when I go back, I will have 3 days ATT B.
OCS Visit
First and foremost, it was the most embarassing incident I ever had. We had to fall in outside Boon Lay MRT Station, and it was at 7+am, right in the middle of the morning peak hour. Everyone passes by and mumbles "oooo..they are the overweight batch", damn it. And the arrangement was so sucky. We HAD to take the bus at Boon Lay MRT, fare=$1. We CANNOT go to OCS on our own..why? Must boost consumer expenditure issit and it was at such an unearthly hour of the day..0715, OMG, I din get enough sleep at all and I live in Choa Chu Kang, some live in Seng Kang leh...wah lau...But anyway, the visit was not much to talk about, a lecture followed by a talk cock session then went on to Singapore Discovery Centre and the retired captain just blabbled on about his experience and Singapore history..yawnz...propaganda (dun bother to brainwash me cos it won't work...) and we were the last platoon to leave..what the heck...oh yah, we had the bus tour of OCS, another retired captain told us that "in the past we were alloed to disembark and walk around for the tour, but now, no due to security reason" Thank god we dun have to leave the air conditioned comfort..whew... And we were made to watch the first big-screen defence film, On Guard...yah, so u noe where all that excess budget went lar...crap...anyway, the trip was a indifferent one cos I never aimed that high..so forget it...
IFC
Individual Field Craft. Camouflage, Trench digging, pitching tents, cooking, seeing ghosts. Heard stories and know how shag it is, but I missed ALL lessons so far, one last wednesday, 1 last thursday and 1 today..duh..maybe I should just go OOC instead of doing all the remedial training...
Route Marches
Progressively 3km, 3km, 4km, 4km...that's what I have missed so far, there's another 6km this Wednesday..so I shall start off with 6km the next time around with that 10kg Full Battle Order..maybe then I can just collapse and lie there...
Pulau Tekong Medical Centre
What can I say...do they give frequent flyer mileage? The doctors there are extremes,I shalln't elaborate much, but all I feel that the CPT(Dr)s are more human and are doctors, not tekan kings. Imagine coming back with an ATT A status or ATT B 1 day..not me lar...but many had gotten it from those what I call "white shirt, black pants" And oh yah..I can also be the doctor there. Muscle pain...muslce rub.. cough...1 type of courgh syrup...flu...flu tablet..if you sit at the dispensary, you can see everyone almost getting these items as standard door gifts..haizz...
Sign Minor
Sign minor basically means you have to do guard duty...3 minors means one confinement..sounds familiar yah..works like CS only worse. I have signed one, for I was drowsy from my medicine and signed my name wrongly in the book in/book out book..unreasonable right..but what can I say? Made an appeal to the OO and there has been no news since...
IPPT
Well, it is the usual NAPFA test items minus the Sit and Reach, damn it, that's the only item I can get 5 points in...oh well...Actually, as obese recruits we dun have to pass IPPT but on weeks 4,7,10 and 13, we have to meet certain criterion to book out or else sob sob..confinement...kena one oredi...but it is not easy lor...chin-up is 1,2,2,3 for the respective weeks then 2.4km run is 15:30 for week 4 then cut by 15 seconds for each subsequent confinement weeks..but continuously jog then can pass wat..but for me that's like scaling Mt Everest..duh..then weight loss is 1kg/week. Meet 2 out of the 3 criteria and you can book out..looks like I can forget about it...haha
Let's talk abt that 1st IPPT test...chin-up needless to say..whole platoon just went "Permission to mount the bar...3,2,1...permission to dismount the bar"..hehe...situp can pass(i mean pass by the original standard, not NS standard) lar..SBJ, fail as usual then shuttle run..too long never run..fell down while trying to brake then my hip and legs hurt like mad..so din even complete my 2.4km run...so confinement cannot go for Miss Quek's dinner..haizz...
Bayonet Fighting
Damn bo liao..must shout at the top of ur voice at every move then i oso dunnoe wat to say lar..it is just so stupid lor..we wun go fight a war wa..why learn this? Anyway, I have taken only 2 lessons and missed all the others...so can't say much
Grenade Throwing
Shag..that's the word..under the hot sun...then my arms are so weak how to throw far enough? Then kena scolded lor..but what's best man..one in platoon lost the practice grenade(fake plastic one) and we had to search for it and almost cannot book out..lucky the CAT 1 siren sounded so search called off or else we surely blanket him...
